Course Preface

Hello everyone, I'm Christina. Welcome to this watercolor journey. In this course, I will guide you step-by-step to experience the true charm of watercolor painting.

In an era where people seek shortcuts and immediate results, I invite you to slow down, pick up your brush, and join me in learning the fundamentals: sketching forms, understanding color relationships, creating atmosphere, and mastering water control. Only with a solid foundation can your artistic journey go further and flourish. Without it, you’ll likely hit a plateau and find it hard to progress.

I apply a method called “FOCUS–FEEDBACK–FIX”, a deliberate practice approach. Through repeated training, each piece you create will address a specific challenge and lead to a breakthrough. As you witness your own progress, painting will become more natural, enjoyable, and effective.

“Trust the Process” is more than a motto — it’s a belief system rooted in long-term thinking, and it forms the core philosophy of my teaching.

Course FAQ

  • Q: Can I learn if I have no experience in art?
A: Absolutely! The Beginners lessons are designed for those with no background in art or watercolour.

You will learn about: Media and brush pens; Structure and features; Light and shadow; Colour harmony; Brush handling and water control; Observation and sketching; Integration and application

I explain and demonstrate these core concepts in detail. With focused technical practice, students are guided on how to correct mistakes, reflect, improve their perception and ability, and fill in any gaps. Even if you have zero prior knowledge, by following the right methods and learning proactively, you’ll make significant progress.

Q: Will I get feedback from you?
A: Yes. I use Facebook Messenger or Instagram to provide you feedback on your work.

Q: Is there a time limit for completing the course?
A: No. All learning materials are available permanently, allowing for unlimited review.

Each student can learn at their own pace and in their best state of mind.

Q: What level can I expect to reach after completing the course?
A: Everyone’s art background, learning focus, and practice time differ, so there is no standard answer to this. What’s certain is that every bit of effort brings results. With correct methods and consistent practice, I believe every student can reach or even exceed the expected learning outcomes.

Q: Are there equipment requirements for watching the course?
A: You can use a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone — any of these devices are fine.

Q: Will the teacher give personal guidance to each student?
A: Yes. The course has an assistant who handles tasks like enrolment, tech support, and material sharing. I, as the instructor, personally teach and guide students. I give detailed feedback on each student’s work and progress, focusing fully on teaching — giving my undivided attention to each piece of work.

Q: Are online lessons effective and easy to follow?
A: Yes. The lessons combine demonstration and explanation. Key concepts and techniques are explained in detail. Students can review lessons multiple times to reinforce knowledge.

Q: Must I use the same paints and brushes as shown?
A: There’s no strict requirement. However, using the same paints and brushes as in the demonstrations will help you achieve more similar results.
